Below are some highlights from the Undergraduates over the past several weeks

  • Last Saturday we initiated 24 new Brothers. Great job by their Magister Greg Gormley.  It was great to see a strong showing of alumni at initiation including the fathers of several of the initiates.
  • Last chapter we installed the new Consul and Pro Consul. Great job by the outgoing Officers over the past year!
  • Greek week will be with the sisters of Kappa Delta.
  • We are excited about THON which is set for the weekend of February 19. We will be sending 4 dancers to represent Sigma Chi.

Undergraduate Updates

Undergraduates Off to a Strong Start for Fall Semester

Below are some highlights from the undergraduates over the past several weeks:

  • Softball playoffs start tonight against DTD, the team is currently undefeated
  • We just pinned in 26 pledges for the Fall SemesterWe are reinstalling Sunday Dinners with Mom, we are going to try and have dinner together every Sunday at 6.We just elected a new Consul and a new Pro Consul, who will take over in the Spring. Electing them early gives them a chance to learn how things are done for a semester before they have to take on the responsibility. Joe Popowycz will be our next Consul and Mike Lanz will be our next Pro Consul.
  • Homecoming will be with the sisters of Alpha Chi Omega
  • Greek Sing is starting up soon and we will be participating with the sisters of Alpha Sigma Alpha doing a performance of the musical Smokey Joe's Cafe.
  • Our new THON partners are the sisters of Alpha Omega Pi.

Undergraduates Prepare for THON and IM Basketball

Below are some highlights from the undergraduates over the past several weeks:

  • The house raised over $10,000 last weekend for THON. We are currently on pace to finish top 10 which would be the first time since I have been here that we would have done that.
  • Our IM Basketball season just started.  After winning football, we have a great shot to compete for the Bischoff this year if we can win basketball.  Our team is talented so we should have a good shot at that.
  • We are making more of an effort to get Mom out of her room and involved with the house.  Recently about 10 brothers and Mom watched a movie in the great hall together.  We also collected money and got her flowers for Valentine's Day
  • Our Tribune, Sean Callaghan, is working on a monthly newsletter to be sent to parents and alumni.  This will include updates on the brothers and the chapter as well as upcoming events.  Our first edition will be sent out in February.
