We are saddened to report the passing of Michael Canzian ‘74. Michael was a very popular and well-loved Brother.

“Michael Allan Canzian, thirteen days shy of age 72, of Mansfield, TX, died Friday, Nov. 8, 2024. He was born Nov. 21, 1952 in Bakerstown, PA to the late Alfred A. Canzian and Helen Reuss Canzian and also was predeceased by his brother, Mark Canzian.
Michael was a loving father to Chelsea Canzian of Sterlington, LA. He is survived by his brother Daniel (Cecilia) Canzian of Houston, TX; sister-in-law Catherine Canzian of Red Hook, NY; sister Mary Beth (Gary) Homison of Tarentum, PA; brother Paul Canzian of Houston, TX; sister Germaine Canzian of Springfield, VA; brother Philip (Becky) Canzian of Gibsonia, PA. Dear and “favorite” uncle to Brandy, Candra, Danny, Severo, Erica, Santino, Annette, Corrina, Gennyle, Fatima, Kyle, Kaitlyn, Philip, Marissa, Anthony (Godson) and Mikaela.
Michael attended Richland High School in Bakerstown, PA and graduated from Penn State University in State College, PA, where he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. Michael cherished the friendships he made during those years and made it a priority to reunite with them on an annual basis. Michael was an expert sportsman and had a love for fishing, hunting, hiking and camping especially with his brothers, cousins and nephews. Before he retired, he worked many years as a successful salesman of sporting goods with Maurice, Dunkin-Lewis and Swarovski where he developed lifelong friendships with customers and coworkers alike. Michael will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Friends and family will be welcomed at a visitation on Monday, December 2, 2024 from 4-8 p.m. at the Schellhaas Funeral Home, Ltd., 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown, PA 15007. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 11 a.m. in St. Richard Church, Sts. Martha and Mary Parish, 3841 Dickey Road, Gibsonia, PA 15044. Michael’s final resting place will be next to his mother Helen in Pinewood Memorial Park, 20950 US-19, Cranberry Township, PA 16066.
