1970s

Wells, William “Bard”, Class of 1979
Sally and I recently built a house and moved to Fayetteville, WV. If you are traveling through WV on Rte 19, we are located 1.5 miles from the New River Gorge Bridge. We invite any brothers to stop by and see us if you are passing through. We had a good crowd for the 5th Annual Whitewater Weekend in July. Bruce Hartshorn, Steve Levis, Dave Chernuta, Dirk Matson, Dan Johnson, Byron Woodrum and Ron Petherbridge came down for some whitewater rafting and smallmouth bass fishing. We finished the weekend off with the famous Fayetteville Pub Crawl.

Vogel, Brian “BV”, Class of 1970
Have been working in the DC area as Interim Executive Director (acting CEO) of the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) since July. Expect to be home in MA in late December. I am now a new grandfather! My daughter gave birth to a baby boy, Noah, in late June. My son is getting married on New Years Eve. Have enjoyed playing in the golf tournaments at PSU the last few years. BV

Weber, Richard “Webo”, Class of 1979

I’ve been speaking in front of various small groups and signing copies of my new book, Pink Lips and Fingertips, since it was released in the summer. The book is an inspirational biography about a woman who was born with a rare heart defect called common ventricle and given a death sentence by the medical community. Instead of retreating inward and playing it safe to extend her years or embarking on extravagant global adventures, Jeri chose to impact one kind act at a time. I view the book as “inspiration in a time of desperation”—an uplifting story in a period of persistently negative news—and feel it is a tremendous boost for anyone who is suffering physically, mentally or spiritually, or has family members or friends who are. It shows how you can live a vibrant, dynamic, impactful life amid the suffering. I also have written a companion study guide, with 3-4 questions for each of the 20 chapters. It sets up the book as the perfect tool to use in group study. To obtain a personalized, signed copy, contact me at webodespo@yahoo.com or go to rickweber.org.
