Friday, June 5: Golf @ PSU White Course – Shotgun start promptly at Noon
As in past years, the weekend will kick off with our traditional Friday yellow ball event at the White Course at Penn State. The Penn State Golf Courses practice facility will be open to attendees at 10:30 a.m. with range balls included. Lunch is included with this event and will start at 10:45 a.m. A selection of adult and alternative beverages will be available on the course.
The format remains the same, with an individual stroke play event and also a foursome event using the “yellow ball” between the foursome. We will recognize the individual Low Gross and Low Net and customary skills events for the day.
Saturday, June 6: Golf @ PSU Blue Course – Shotgun start promptly at 9:00 a.m.
The “granddaddy of them all” and a time-honored “tradition unlike any other” all wrapped into one morning/afternoon.
The format is a proprietary handicapped team scramble. You MUST indicate your golf handicap and expected teammates when registering. This is generally a “fun competition,” and if you don't have a team, we'll be happy to partner you with other players of equal temperament, talent and conviction.
All teams will be in a position to compete and all aspire to win the coveted “Tacky Jackets” as recognition for the Low Net team champions, and join a distinguished group of Past Champions. There will also be a set of inspiring Nittany Lion Statues for the Low Gross team champions.
Traditional prizes for Longest Drive, Straightest Drive and Closest to the Pin, as well as second and third place in the Net and Gross flights will be awarded.
Lunch at the Turn – a hot dog, chips and a drink are included, as well as a selection of adult and alternative beverages on the course.
Saturday, June 6: Awards Ceremony and Steak Bake @ 400 E. Prospect Ave. - 5:30 p.m.
Golfer or not, please join us at our Chapter House for cocktails and dinner. This offers a chance for Brothers and friends of all ages to socialize and recount the events of the weekend. The always emotional, sometimes controversial, but highly anticipated Awards Ceremony kicks off at approximately 6:30 p.m. Dinner will be at 7:15 p.m. Beer and wine will be provided, along with hearty appetizers, culminating with a gourmet steak dinner. Past Champions are reminded to wear their 'Tacky Jackets' this evening, as part of our tradition.
Sunday, June 7: Alumni Meeting @ 400 E. Prospect Ave. - 9:00 a.m.
Before you head home, please set aside an hour and join us at the Chapter House for coffee and donuts and an update from the House Corporation leadership on the “State of the Chapter.”
