On February 12 a Celebration of Life Event was held in honor of Brother Steven Lueckel ’71. Luke’s wife Diane (an Alpha Chi Sweetheart) and his daughters Kristen & Stephanie saw to it that the Celebration was very special.
The event was held at the Five Ponds Golf Club in Bucks County PA, a venue where Luke and several of his Alpha Chi buddies played many a round of 18 holes over the past years. More than 100 friends, neighbors and family were in attendance. Luke’s college roommate, Frank “Spooney” Raymond (two-year Alpha Chi Consul and Sigma Chi Foundation) delivered a heartwarming speech and memory of Luke and his Pledge Brothers travails. Speaking of Pledge Brothers, four of Luke’s were in attendance among the Alpha Chis who came to honor the memory of Luke: Eric Patzer, Andy Miller, Frank Raymond and Ted Wile. They made their trips from California, Florida, Florida, and Virginia respectively. All who participated in the Celebration came away with an expanded understanding of just how kind and generous Luke was…both within and outside of Sigma Chi
