With COVID-19 many active brothers returned home and finish classes online. The semester and quietly and now summer projects have begun.
Alumni House Manager has been busy developing the Summer project list. At the top of the list is the boiler replacement, which we have no choice but to pursue. The new tandem design should reduce stress on a single boiler and this new system once it’s installed it should provide reliable service for many years to come.
Other summer projects include:
· Long Room in Basement: painting walls and adding additional lighting
· Great Hall: refinishing window sills, adding up to 8 coats of poly urethane to the floors, Bedrooms: Cleaning all bedrooms, replacing window hardware, new locks for all interior doors
· Replacing some of the outer wooden doors (note, these were the original doors from 1928).
· Painting common areas that need touch up
· Planting grass seed in front of the White Cross
· Adding more stone to the parking lots
As we mentioned in our Spring Newsletter, the Boiler project will cost us over $70,000. Your generous donations are appreciated. As we prepare for the Fall 2020 opening of the house, we will share further updates
