Awards and Recognitions

Alumni of the Year

Alumni of the Year are recognized for their significant contributions to Alpha Chi during the course of the recently completed Academic Year. At the recent Golf Classic Weekend, 2023-24 Awardees were presented with beautiful personally engraved decanters and glasses. Congratulations to this year’s honorees: Art Weber, Mike Guelker, Jay Holler, and Jim Cooper.

Low Net Winners

Saturday’s “Low Net” competition is the premiere event of the Annual Golf Classic. First place winners receive the honor of donning the coveted Tacky Jackets. The photo includes three of the 2024 winning foursome, proudly wearing their Tacky attire.

Pictured above left to right are Collin Conaty, Matthew Kutz, and Matt McGraw. Not seen in the photo is the fourth winner, Jim Solomon.
Side Yard Dedication

The Alpha Chi Side Yard is an outstanding feature of our fraternity among all others at Penn State. The fence surrounding the side yard turf was essential in generating its unique environment and desired privacy. Several Alumni worked with the Active Undergraduates (July 2021) to construct the fence.

Pictured above from left to right with said plaque are Byron Woodrum, Art Weber, Dan Schlegel, Bill Fricker, Jay Holler, and Jim Lundy.
The Mount Rushmore of Golf Classic Leadership
Three former Tournament Directors and our newly appointed one. Pictured above from left to right: Scott Fozard, Matthew Kutz, Tom Giacalone, and Joe Conaty (“the original”).

Matt, we are confident you will earn your Green Jacket during the next several years! Thanks to all four for their hard work and dedication.
